World Premiere!!!!!

I am so very excited to invite everyone to visit our world premiere art installation at Gallery 221 on the Hillsborough Community College Campus in Tampa, FL. (Upstairs in the Library - DLRC) (4001 W. Tampa Bay Blvd. Dale Mabry DLRC 222 Tampa FL 33614) Saumitra and I have been collaborating on this project for almost a year and I cannot wait to see it in person. Here is a short synopsis of the installation for those of you who may not remember the details.

Secret Language of Intimacy is an abstract and poetic fiber art installation that translates human emotions into two distinct, compatible and legitimate forms of communication. It encourages the viewer to unlock the door to their own emotions and allow themselves to validate the legitimacy of each individual expression of this universally shared experience. The physical installation combines two styles of fiber art display. The first is "in your face and large" just as our own emotions can sometimes be overwhelming in their expression. It consists of twelve pairs of 4'x6' hanging fabric panels depicting two translations of human emotion: Poetic and Abstract. The second is much more subtle in its display just as our emotions can sometimes be suppressed and corralled. This mimics the larger panels but in twelve shadowboxes 12"x18" mounted on the wall in a safe and traditional display.

Because of the COVID Pandemic Gallery 221 is encouraging people to take the virtual tour which will soon be available on its website. But if you want to see the installation in person there are restrictions.
